Cookie Policy
What is a cookie?
An HTTP cookie or cookie is a special text, often encoded, sent by a server to a web browser and then sent back (unmodified) by the browser, each time it accesses that server. Cookies are often used for authentication. Most modern browsers allow the user to decide whether or not to accept cookies. However, sites that refuse them will lack certain facilities – for example, in a virtual store it will no longer be possible to use the shopping cart, if it has been implemented with the help of cookies. Cookies do NOT request information from the user in order to identify them. There are 2 main categories of cookies:
- Session cookies – stored in the browser until you exit the site and close the browser
- Normal cookies – stored on the server that have a predetermined lifespan. This type of cookie also includes “third party” cookies.
Advantages of cookies
The cookie contains the information that makes the connection between the user’s web browser and the website he accesses. If a browser accesses the same website again, the browser can read the information already stored. Cookies provide users with a pleasant browsing experience by helping to remember certain user preferences. Cookies can be deleted at any time by the user through the browser settings. These settings may differ depending on the browser.
What are “Third Party Cookies”?
Certain functionalities of the website can be provided only through external services (various pop-ups, video sections, notifications). This type of cookie is often used to improve and personalize the browsing experience. These external service providers may place cookies through the site, but these cookies also comply with security and confidentiality rules.
What information is stored in a cookie?
Browsers have integrated privacy settings that provide certain levels of acceptance of cookies, validity period and automatic deletion at the end of this period. It is good to know that, although very rarely, it can happen, if you use an unencrypted network, that during the transmission of data between browser and website, this information is intercepted.
How can I deactivate a cookie?
Refusing or deleting cookies may make it impossible to use certain sites. This does not mean your disagreement with receiving advertising, but it does mean that the advertising materials you receive will no longer be customized to your preferences and interests. Cookie settings can be changed in the browser from its “options” or “preferences” menu.
